Meadowlark Commons - Transitional Jobs & Housing

MEADOWLARK COMMONS - Offsets isolation and dependency with community and peer support

Our transitional housing at Meadowlark Commons is designed to help people transition into permanent housing with the skills necessary to sustain it. We couple transitional housing, transitional jobs and our program supports in order to help people become self-sufficient and less dependent on subsidies.

Meadowlark Commons provides 16 units of transitional apartment living.  They are fully furnished and offer quiet elegance, privacy and community.  These efficiency apartments are designed to be stair-steps for households who are currently without or about to be without a home.  This process allows an individual or family to move into long term housing with the knowledge that this is where they wish to live and they have put the necessary supports in place to keep this dream alive.

Additional facilities include a commercial kitchen that provides evening meals as a transitional jobs training area; a community room that offers areas for entertainment and social gathering; exercise equipment to complement a healthy regimen and lifestyle; and a computer lab that links to adult education services. There are laundry facilities and a patio grilling area that surrounds a children’s outdoor play area.
